hello all, sorry about the lateness of the update this week. Unfortunatly there will be no night time event this week, due to the auditor being sick. There will be a coffee morning tomorrow, Wednesday 15th, in the student centre between 12 and 3. Hope to see you there, and events will return as normal next week.
Hi everyone. The Coffee morning this week has been moved to Tuesday 7th October from 12pm- 3pm, in the Student Centre. There is an Astrology Workshop being held by the lovely librarian, Tina Carter, on Wednesday 8th October, at 6pm in the Meeting Room 3 in the Student Centre. Once again, if you have ideas what we can run, any event that you would like, drop me an email at auditor.ucdpagansoc@gmail.com

Hi everyone, thanks to everyone who showed up to the events this week. Tonight there is an event on, not run by Pagansoc but still pretty interesting. It is on in the United Arts Club, 3 Fitzwilliam St, Upper, Dublin 2 (adjoins Baggot St, near the Bank of Ireland). The title of the talk is “Seasonal Festivals and Mythic Landscape” by Mary MacKenna. “is the Ritual year calendar tradition relevant today? Illustrated exploration from Celtic Samhain to Halloween, from Croagh Park to Croke Park”
It does cost a tenner to enter but its something that could be really interesting
Hi everyone. The events for this week will take place on Tuesday the 30th and Wednesday the 1st.
On Tuesday evening, at 7pm in the Student Centre in Meeting Room 3, I will be running a workshop/discussion group on “Ritual Tools of Paganism: What and How we use them”. It should be an interesting event for everyone, those that know about tools (of Ritual) and especially for those who don’t. Come along if it interests you, even if it doesnt, come along anyway, we’re lovely people!
The Coffee morning this week is on Wednesday the 1st of October in the Student Centre between 12pm and 3pm. I hope everyone that came last week had a good time and returns in the future. Same drill as last week, tea, coffee, biscuits if you get there early enough..
Hope to see everyone soon!
Hey everyone, I hope you all had as much fun as I did during Freshers’ Week. Big thanks to everyone that helped out, and those who kept me amused during those long hours at the stand.
This week we have a Coffee Morning on Wednesday the 24th between 12 and 3 in the Student Centre in Meeting Room 3. We will have signs up so you can’t miss us! There will be tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and lots of chat, so come along if you want to.
Also on Wednesday, the lovely Pagansoc libririan, Tina Carter, will be holding a Meditation and Cleansing event to start off the year in a calm, organised manner. This event will also be held in the Student Centre, at 6pm.
On another note, if anyone is interested, there will be a book launch in Dublin Castle on Thursday the 25th at 6pm. The book ” Islands of the Setting Sun”, looks at the astronimcal mysteries surrounding some of Ancient Ireland’s oldest sites (Newgrange and it’s cohorts) and how they are linked to mythology, archaeology and cosmology, and some astonishing alignments.
If anyone has any thoughts about the society or some events that they would like to see us run, you can email me at auditor.ucdpagansoc@gmail.com
Hi everyone, welcome to the website of UCD’s PaganSoc. Im Lisa, the auditor. If you have ideas or comments about the society, drop me an email at auditor.ucdpagansoc@gmail.com
Seeing as it’s Freshers’ Week, the society has lots of different events happening. Tonight, Monday 15th, we have an Open Meeting in meeting room 5 in the Student Centre. Tuesday the 16th we have a discussion group called “Coming out of the Broom Closet” in meeting rooms 1 and 2. Wednesday the 17th, there is a “Welcome Back” party, also in meeting rooms 1 and 2 in the Student Centre. (Please note: this is a non- alchololic party, but there will be sweeties). Thursday the 18th, there will be a screening of the History Channels’ “The Pagans”. So come on down to the Student Centre, you know you want to!
Dear All,
It’s been quite a year since AGM ‘07. 1 brand new website, 2 copies of Paths, 3 parties, 4 workshops, members from all 5 departments, 6 kinds of products in the shop, getting in at 7.30am on Thursday to poster, 8 books bought for the Library, 9 members joined outside of (Re-)Freshers’, “10 Day’s till Samhain”.
Yes that was the Ryan Gannon year but of course none of it would have been possible without the greatest committee any auditor ever had.
Conor Fleming was our treasurer and went above and beyond to give us the best financial records the society’s ever had and in his final year of chemistry, I’d like to wish him all the best on behalf of everyone at PaganSoc.
Lisa McCarthy was our first Librarian to have a library! And a wonderful job she did. She also was a huge help postering and in the overall running of the society. She’s now Auditor and she’ll be great so everyone wish her good luck and when she asks you to poster say yes.
It’s been my honor and pleasure to preside over the greatest year of expansion for the society, to have seen it prosper and become more involved in college life.
To the incoming committee I say good luck, do the work and enjoy yourselves.
And to the society as a whole I’d like to say thank-you for all that you’ve given me, the opportunity to see how far I can go, the help when I couldn’t carry it all alone and the thanks when I managed to pull it off.
Your welcome and thank-you,
Ryan Gannon
Out-going Auditor
UCD Pagan Society 2008
P.S. I’m not going that far, I’ll be around as the unofficial web administrator next year. Couldn’t get rid of me that easily.
