~ Ryan (Webmaster 06/07 & 08/09, Auditor 07/08)

October 18th, 2007

Hey everyone. As most of you know we here in PaganSoc have an annual Samhain Party. This year it’s on October 25th, in the Blue Room (upstairs in the Student Centre) from 6pm.

To celebrate the forthcoming celebrations we’re having 10 facts of Samhain as we count-down the days.

Fact #4:

The Ulster Cycle is peppered with references to Samhain. Many of the adventures and campaigns undertaken by the characters therein begin at the Samhain Night feast.

Hello peoples,

I have forgotten about you, I have been trying to organise a couple of
workshops for you, but due to the awkwardness of the mid-term break it
will be April before we get to them. We just need to book a room now
for the energy workshop and then I’ll let you all know about it.

Also, a couple of weeks after we get back we’ll be holding the AGM to
elect the new Committee. Again time and place to be confirmed. But, if
you are interested in helping out the Society, or even downright
seizing power, please watch this space. And even if you’re not
interested in giving that much time please at least come to the AGM
and have your say by voting.

And finally, this Thursday the Newman Society is holding a debate.
They’ve asked if any of our members would be interested in
participating. I include the forwarded email for your consideration:

‘There is a debate on Thursday 8th March at 7:30pm on the existence of
God in Th Q Arts. The motion is that it is rational to believe in the
existence of God. We are looking for speakers for the opposition.
Would be great if you could come up with some.

thanks

Andrew

That’s it for now. The website’s nearly finished, and we’ll get back
to you about the coffee lunch this week.

Take care of yourselves,

PaganSoc this week

October 23rd, 2006

Hello all!

Excuse me as I get all excited in the lead up to Halloween. The darker days, the fireworks, the extra sweets in the shops, the mad dash to finish costumes, ignoring mid-term exams and projects, it’s all good. Not that I reccommend any of that of course.

Anyway, this week we will be having the Coffee Lunch again. That Room 5, upstairs in the Student Centre, from 1-3pm on Wednesday. And as usual free to members.

But on Thursday, from 7pm, in the Blue Room, upstairs in the Student Centre, we will he having our Samhain Party! If you’ve seen the posters about you’ll know all about it. It’s fancy dress, with a prize for the best costume. There’ll be traditional Hallowe’en games like bobbing for apples, and some divination work (palm reading, and maybe tarot reading), snacks and drinks. It’ll be €5 on the door, but it will definitely be worth it! Over the last couple of years we’ve had people join just to attend. So I hope to see you all there!

Regards,
Cheryl-Anne
